Terms and Conditions for Wynne Decor
Last Updated: [Insert Date]
These Terms and Conditions apply to all decorating services provided by Wynne Decor (“the Decorator”, “we”, “us”) to the client (“the Client”, “you”).
1. Quotes and Estimates
 * All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
 * Quotes are based on a visual inspection of the site. If, upon starting work, we discover hidden defects (e.g., blown plaster, damp, or structural issues), we will inform you immediately. Any additional work required will be quoted separately.
 * A contract is formed once the Client provides written acceptance (via email or signed document) of the quote.
2. Payment Terms
 * Deposit: A deposit of 20% is required to secure the project start date. This deposit is used to procure materials and allocate labor.
 * Final Payment: The remaining balance is due strictly within 7 days of completion of the work.
 * Late Payments: In accordance with UK late payment legislation, we reserve the right to charge interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate on any overdue balances.
3. Client Responsibilities
 * Access: The Client must provide clear access to the property during agreed working hours.
 * Site Preparation: Unless otherwise agreed in the quote, the Client is responsible for moving furniture, removing wall hangings, and clearing the work area. We will provide dust sheets to protect floors and remaining heavy furniture.
 * Utilities: The Client must provide access to running water and electricity at no cost to the Decorator.
4. Materials and Standards
 * Workmanship: We guarantee to perform all work with "reasonable care and skill" as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
 * Paint Selection: If the Client provides the paint or wallpaper, Wynne Decor cannot be held responsible for the quality, coverage, or durability of the finish.
 * Drying Times: We are not liable for any damage to the finish dust or smudges caused by the Client or third parties before the paint/surface is fully dry or cured.
5. Cancellations and "Cooling Off" Period
 * Consumer Rights: If you are a domestic consumer and the contract was signed at your home, you have a 14-day legal right to cancel (the "cooling-off period").
 * Urgent Work: If you request that work begins within this 14-day window, you agree to waive your right to cancel for the portion of work already completed.
 * Late Cancellation: Cancellations made by the Client less than 48 hours before the start date may result in a loss of the deposit to cover lost labor time.
6. Liability and Insurance
 * Insurance: Wynne Decor maintains Public Liability Insurance up to the value of £5,000,000.
 * Accidental Damage: We will take every precaution to protect your property. However, we are not liable for damage to items left in the work area that were not moved by the Client as requested in Section 3.
7. Complaints and Redress
 * We take pride in our work. If you are unsatisfied, you must notify us within 5 days of completion. We will be given the first opportunity to inspect and rectify any genuine defects in workmanship at our own expense.
8. Governing Law
